  5. SAN JOSE, California ■ May 10, 1993 ■ In conjunction with Apple■
  6. Computer Inc.'s Worldwide Developers Conference, WordPerfect
  7. Corporation today announced its commitment to support Apple
  8. Macintosh computers based on PowerPC, Apple's next generation of
  9. personal computers.  Company officials said WordPerfect Corporation
  10. plans to take full advantage of the power and performance of the
  11. new computers with a future version of WordPerfect.
  12.      "We will support WordPerfect for the PowerPC-based Macintosh
  13. computer because it will provide our customers with more power and
  14. compatibility with WordPerfect on other platforms," said Dave Moon,
  15. senior vice president of development at WordPerfect Corporation.
  16. "Apple's new technology will provide an excellent platform for us
  17. to build tools that will help our users process, share and present
  18. information across multiple platforms."
  19.      The PowerPC-based Macintosh computers will ship with Apple■s
  20. standard Macintosh operating system, System 7. This platform will
  21. provide Macintosh developers at WordPerfect Corporation with new
  22. features and performance improvements over the 680x0 series of
  23. microprocessors.
